Dierks Bentley wins the first annual Stagecoach Geography Award, which I just created, by the way, for acknowledging that he is in Indio.

Wooo!

He also said this date is one of his standout dates of the year and that he's been wanting to come out here.

Now, I've interviewed Dierks and I don't think this is just lip service. He's a truly genuine guy. He still drives around in the 1994 Ford pickup truck that he drove from Phoenix to Nashville when he moved there.

And he is dynamic, much more of a rock guy than a lot of the country stars. I'm going to attribute this to the fact that he is a Bon Jovi fan, just like me.

Actually, one of the interesting things we talked about when I interviewed him was that country shows these days are more like rock shows of the 1980s, getting a younger, crazier crowd.

By the way, there are a few people out here today who look like they've been passed out from last week's festivities at Coachella and just woke up and are Hipster Van Winkles at Stagecoach.
