Here's a new artist to keep an eye on:

Merlinmoon is an up and coming psychedelic rock artist playing the Viper Room on April 5 in a concert that will include a light show, visual art and a short monologue in addition to the music.

Roger Waters, I think we've found your new opening act.

I'm really digging "Bullets Going Through Me." The song has some lovely SoCal country rock undertones mixed with modern rock and a psychedelic dreamscape.

Then there are songs like "Poppy Fields" that could be spun on adult contemporary stations.

Merlinmoon, a.k.a. Alex Deep, got his moniker from dreams he had involving Merlin the wizard and a piano when he was in college at Boston Unniversity and dealing with pressure from family about giving up music.

Wizards have never come into my dreams. As a fellow Boston U. alum, I feel gypped.

On another note, it should be easy for Merlinmoon to have a cool touring van--there has to be one with a wizard painted on it out there somewhere.

Alex Deep decided to go with Merlinmoon as his music-making moniker after the wizard visited him in his dreams.
