Break out those funky glasses, concerts are going 3-D

I don't remember so much commotion over a 3-D film since Michael Jackson played Captain EO in Disneyworld. (You know, they really should release that on a deluxe DVD), but this weekend, people have already bought tickets to see Hannah Montana in 3-D.

Actually, the "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour," which is coming to theaters for one week, starting Friday, actually packs three acts into its three dimensions--Hannah, Miley and the ever popular teen idols the Jonas Bros.

Tickets are already scarce and parents are prepping vital organs for the black market.

Personally, I'm holding out for 'High School Musical" in 3-D. Zac Efron jumping out of the screen would be kind of funny.

But Miley/Hannah follows in the footsteps of Bono/The Edge. U2 went 3-D last weekend in theaters. And this weekend they're going head to head, but U2 is apparently going into wider release later.

My prediction: Miley/Hannah will win the battle and probably the war. However, Bono will be really socially conscious while fighting it.

And it looks like there's no end to the 3-D trend in sight. Missy Elliott is using the visual effect in her newest videos

If only she had done it for the crazy trash bag costume video of "Supa Dupa Fly (The Rain)." Now that would have been awesome.
