A Yucaipa-based business held their first organizing workshop on Monday, Sept. 8 in Yucaipa.

At the workshop, staff members of Practical Solutions Organizing taught participants how to become more organized.

Cathy Bates, the company's owner and Golden Circle Member of the National Association of Professional Organizers, taught attendees how to simplify their lives by de-cluttering their homes and calendars.

Bates told participants some of the reasons why organizing efforts usually fail, and the steps professional organizers take to ensure success.

They also discussed why a people struggle with organizing, how to get rid of clutter and what to do to maintain that order. Participants were also encouraged to look at their daily schedules and see what needs to be cut to make time for what is truly important.
