OK, I'm kidding, but really how far can we be from toddlers receiving scholarship offers. According to the Portland Tribune, UCLA has already been in contact with 13-year-old Nigel Williams-Goss, a seventh grader at Sunrise Middle School in Happy Valley, Ore. and probably the top-ranked point guard in his age group in the country. (Yes, someone ranks middle schoolers)
"I like UCLA. I got my first letter from UCLA. I've got two from them and nobody else," he says. "Them being my first recruiters, I'd love to go there, or maybe USC. A lot of my Dad's family is in California, and I like it there."
I guess you have to give credit to Coach Ben Howland for finding out about these kids early. Someone alert the Pit Crew at Oregon so they can start making profanity-laden signs about Nigel's grandparents.
Everything looks nice until I saw the 3 evil letters U S C which made me shudder . . .
