UCLA has been in contact with Kentucky transfer Derrick Jasper, according to this report in the San Luis Obispo Tribune. Jasper, who suffered through an injury-plagued sophomore season at Kentucky last year, left the school because he was homesick and appears to be looking at mostly West Coast schools.
I left a message for Jasper's mother and his high school coach, and I'll have an update when it becomes available. UCLA was not heavily involved with Jasper out of high school, but the schools he was looking at then were not on the West Coast.
