The ABC announcers (former UCLA quarterback David Norrie among them) are talking about USC as the best team in the country right now, now that they're healthy, and hinting at a potential split national championship.
And why not?
The consensus is that Ohio State is a Missouri or West Virginia loss today away from playing in the BCS national championship game. If that's true, if Ohio State is so highly regarded and USC were to pound them on Jan. 1, why shouldn't the Trojans get some votes for No. 1?
You can't have it both ways with Ohio State, likely to be ranked as high as No. 3 going into the bowls. So what is it?
