Michael Roll out indefinitely

Reserve guard Michael Roll re-ruptured the plantar fascia ligament in his left foot during Monday’s practice, and will be out indefinitely. An MRI has been scheduled for Wednesday.
The interesting thing about this injury is it opens the possibility that UCLA coach Ben Howland could opt to burn forward James Keefe's redshirt year. Howland said he’d only consider lifting Keefe’s redshirt if a player in the team’s eight-man rotation suffered a season-ending injury prior to Jan. 12.
I spoke to James' father Jim Keefe, who said a meeting has been scheduled for tomorrow to discuss that possibility. Jim wasn't too keen on the idea of burning a year of his son's eligibility because he didn't think the injury to Roll would open too much frontcourt playing time for James.
