Good News After Bad News

Despite two losses and a drop out of the national title picture, as well as a place in the Pac-10 race tied for fourth, USC still has the goods as far as players who can play defense, says SI.com this week.

In a photo gallery of its Top 10 Defensive Draft Prospects, SI.com lists no fewer than three Trojans. The only other team with three is top-ranked Ohio State. Miami (Florida) has two.

USC's trio has linebackers Keith Rivers at No. 9 and Rey Maualuga at No. 7 with nose tackle Sedrick Ellis at No. 5.

Here is the entire list:

No. 10. Vernon Gholston DE-OLB, Ohio State

No. 9. Keith Rivers OLB, USC

No. 8. Malcolm Jenkins CB, Ohio State

No. 7. Rey Maualuga LB, USC

No. 6. Calais Campbell DE, Miami-Fl

No. 5. Sedrick Ellis DT, USC

No. 4. James Laurinaitis LB, Ohio State

No. 3. Kenny Phillips S, Miami-Fl

No. 2. Chris Long DE, Virginia

No. 1. Glenn Dorsey DT, LSU
