This morning, new California Assembly Speaker Karen Bass dismissed the suggestion that McCain could win a state that has reliably gone to Democrats in presidential elections for two decades. "I don't see a lot of electricity or excitement," Bass said of McCain's campaign. Bass, D-Los Angeles, said her own election is evidence that Hispanic voters in California will support black candidates. She vowed do anything she could to help Obama's campaign, but said she was disappointed that the Illinois Senator didn't spend more time in California before February's primary. "The Obama campaign better not take California for granted," she said. "I don't think they will." —Ben Goad 1 CommentsLeave a comment |
