Moreno Valley police are investigating a possible homicide in the 24000 block of Atwood Avenue.

A death was reported about shortly before 10 a.m. and police have cordoned off the block between Perris Boulevard and Heacock Street.

Moreno Valley Police Chief Rick Hall said investigators are trying to determine if the person was slain.

If authorities determine it is a homicide, it would be second in two days the city. On Wednesday, police found the body of a beaten man laying next to a hammer. Two people have been arrested in connection with that death.
