Perry Agrees to Two Debates (So Far)

Governor Rick Perry's campaign says Perry has accepted invitations to the first two debates of the 2010 gubernatorial race, which will be sponsored by KVUE parent company Belo Corp and the Collin County Republican Party.

"The people of Texas deserve to have the issues discussed in an open forum," said Perry spokesman Mark Miner. "We are hopeful that Sen. Hutchison will leap at the opportunity to dispel concerns that her sixteen years in Washington have left her out of touch with the issues facing everyday Texans."

UPDATE 5:02pm: KBH team responds to Perry debate challenge. From spokesperson Jeff Sadosky:

"Senator Hutchison looks forward to debating the issues with Rick Perry and plans to do so repeatedly over the next seven months. Of course, the more interesting debate could be between Rick Perry's rhetoric and Rick Perry's record. Having said one thing and done another on land grabs, border security, stimulus funds, and taxes, it's a crowded stage."

Will this debate have all the GOP candidates for governor or will KVUE have only Perry and Huchingson; the the media-sponsored candidates of country-club Republicans?

Let the REAL Republican who running in the race kick KHB and Perry's behind with answers based on the principals of Liberty instead of the usual statist pap KHB and Perry squeeze out.
