TX Senate: 22 Hours Straight, AND STILL GOING

8:36 AM Wed, Mar 11, 2009 |
Elise Hu

Texas Senators continue their marathon hearing on Voter ID at this hour, nearly a full day after they started. Most committee hearings set for today have been canceled until the voter ID debate is resolved. First Reading's Jason Embry reports:

  • At 6:30 a.m., I received a report that public testimony was about to soon start. Senators are expected to race through public testimony because most people who signed up to testify didn't want to wait in the Senate gallery for 20 hours and left. So the committee, as it is, could vote this thing out by this morning.

There's too much politics in Texas to fit into a newscast, so the fun continues here.
