Voter Registration Marathon

Sure, most of hyper-political Travis County is already registered to vote. But if you have moved from a different county since the last time you voted, the Secretary of State's office wants you to re-register. And if you haven't voted because you just turned 18 or because of other reasons, TODAY is the last day to get registered to vote in this year's presidential election.

You must register in person with a deputy registar, or by mailing in a form that's postmarked TODAY.

The deadline is MIDNIGHT. The Travis County Elections office will stay open until then for people who need to drop off their forms in person. The office is located at 5501 Airport Blvd.

Plus, TODAY only, in-person registration is available at the following locations:

* ANY Blockbuster Video in Austin
* ANY Thundercloud Subs in Austin
* Freebird's at Hancock Center, 1000 E 41st St
* Guero's at 1412 S Congress
* Clementine's Coffee at 2200 Manor Rd.
* City Market at 1144 Airport Blvd.
* MT Market at 10901 N. Lamar
* Thunderbird Coffee at 1401 W Koenig Lane
* University Co-Op at 2246 Guadalupe
* Travis County Tax Office at 5501 Airport Blvd.

So stop for a sub sandwich or that last Lost DVD you need, and register to vote.

There's too much politics in Texas to fit into a newscast, so the fun continues here.
