Democratic senate candidate Rick Noriega is on Austin TV and in other markets in Texas with his first campaign commercial of the cycle. It's called "Fed Up", an ad that accuses Republican US Sen. John Cornyn of failing Texas families..

Meanwhile, Cornyn's campaign unveiled their sixth ad in the black-and-white Texas landscape series. This one focuses on energy policy. Cornyn decries the nation's reliance on foreign oil.

These ads come out as the two candidates prepare for their first of two debates, scheduled for tonight in Houston. The debate will be carried on PBS stations statewide and on our digital channel, KVUE-2. Tune in!
