Regarding the news swirling around Sarah Palin, I've been staying on the sidelines because I try to keep the items on this blog related to Texas, and the Palin news has largely been covered by the national outlets. You could argue it's been covered too much, even after McCain, Obama and Biden have called for the press to back off. But Austin-based Democratic opposition researcher Jason Stanford is weighing in on today's debate about what McCain's campaign knew -- and what it didn't know -- about Palin before she was picked as the senator's running mate. Was she properly vetted? He wrote for Campaigns and Elections' blog. An excerpt from Stanford's post: I am embarrassed, appalled and horrified at the Sarah Palin appointment, but not because I'm a Democrat. I object to the nomination because I'm an opposition researcher.Your thoughts? Weigh in. 3 CommentsLeave a comment |

There's too much politics in Texas to fit into a newscast, so the fun continues here.

The republicans did their vetting on Palin in a week. So far she seems to be a great choice. And its good to know that the democrats have had much longer on Obama. What were they doing the whole time? When the other side investigated Obama, they came up with all of his connections and judgement problems. All the democrats did was shove that information in the closet, and loved that the media ignored it all. I bet she won't be linked to radical preachers, special interest investigations, and terrorist friends. Democrats vetting process doesn't sound to impressive.
What makes you think she was not vetted?? John McCain is able to accept her as she is. He and his staff knew all about her, her family, and her past. Just because you don't like her doesn't mean that she was not properly vetted. Also, that the media was taken by surprise, just means that some folks can keep a secret.
She's a real woman, not a wanna be man! Able to make tough decisions and still be a loving wife and mom.
I tried to put up this comment last night, before her speech. I don't see it this morning. Tech problems, maybe---if it doesn't go up now--I'll think about "censorship."
The Palin choice for VP does not need vetting by political hacks in Texas or Washington. She is a Washington outsider with values that are in the the mainstream of America. She gave Biden all he could take and made her points. She speaks in a straight forward and spirited manner that I find refreshing.
I do not appreciate KVUE making editorial comments about who won the debate tonight during the opening of the newscast. It was clear in my view that the comments were bias to Obama and Biden.
