Book: Bush Fired Rove In Church

Sugar: I came here to let you go.
Jerry: Pardon me?
Sugar: Came here to fire you, Jerry. It's real, Jerry. You... you should say something.
Jerry: Aw...the crowded restaurant... so there's no scene...
Sugar: I know. It sucks. I suck. -Jerry McGuire, 1996

Bob Sugar fired Jerry McGuire in what looked like a TGI Fridays so he could avoid a scene. According to a new book, President Bush took that concept to the next level.

"On a Sunday in midsummer, George W. Bush accompanied Karl Rove to the Episcopalian Church Rove sometimes attended," writes author Paul Alexander. "They made their way to the front of the congregation. Then, during their time in the church, Bush gave Rove some stunning news. 'Karl,' Bush said, 'there's too much heat on you. It's time for you to go.'"
Peter Alexander is a former Time Magazine reporter. His new book, "Machiavelli's Shadow", came out this month.

There's too much politics in Texas to fit into a newscast, so the fun continues here.
