It's 10am. The Phone's NOT Ringing.

Last week I chronicled some problems I was having with getting the Clinton campaign not calling me back... ever. After my problems were publicized on Daily Kos, I found a reliable Clinton campaign contact who almost always picks up his phone.

Now, it's another press member who's getting stood up. Jay Root from the Fort Worth Star Telegram was told he could get a phone interview with Hillary Clinton, but each time the call was supposed to happen, it's been canceled at the last minute. Here's Jay:

Through the gauzy haze of my subconsciousness I can make out the silouhette of a recurring, painful truth: it's another bad dream, the same one I've been experiencing for three days running now. The phone isn't ringing. I don't even have a red phone. And my "exclusive" with the former first lady has been canceled. Again.

I look at my watch and it's actually 8 a.m. on Monday, the day before the crucial Texas election. Time is running out, and, after getting bumped for an interview Saturday, after waiting for four hours in my office on Sunday. After getting up at the crack of dawn today with a smile on my face, I ask the burning question: Will the Star-Telegram ever get an interview with the senator from New York?

"Just stand by throughout the day,'' comes the response.

I've been stood up more in the last three days than my entire senior year at Liberty High School. I feel so, so ... rejected and denounced. And yet, like an emotional teenager, I wait.

There's too much politics in Texas to fit into a newscast, so the fun continues here.
