Competing Campaign Office Openings
We're double-booked. Both the Clinton and Obama campaigns are doing their official Austin office grand openings on Saturday. Here's your choice of events and their features:
The Clinton Office Opening
-- Program begins at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 16th
-- Office is at Ben White and S. Congress, near Bill Miller barbeque and what looks like a nice gentleman's club
-- Featured guest is United Farm Workers Co-Founder Dolores Huerta
-- Event will be followed by a media availability
The Obama Office Opening
-- Program Begins at 12:30pm, also on Saturday
-- Office is at 816 Congress Ave., which is technically at 9th and Congress
-- Featured guest is Newark Mayor Cory Booker
-- Event will be followed by door-to-door canvassing
Neither campaign has released details on what kinds of snacks it's offering, which could really be the tie-breaker here.
UPDATE: Obama campaign just emailed, saying "snacks will be served".
