Bet Those Thousands Are Glad They Registered

In the frenzy of liveblogging the entire Super Fat Tuesday, I forgot to update numbers on Monday's marathon voter registration drives across Travis County. Here's the update I got from Ryan Giggs, one of the organizers:

Throughout the day we registered 4,500 voters total at our 9 locations around the city, with nearly 2,500 of those coming from the Co-Op location. This was a fantastic turnout considering people are registering for a primary, but maybe not so surprising since there is so much excitement about the current races, and how Texas is positioned to have some effect on the nomination come March.
2,500 at the UT location alone. Not too shabby.
