Memories of Debates Gone By
The big format shocker for the Democratic presidential debate in Las Vegas tonight is that each candidate is getting a chance to ask another candidate a question.

Sound familiar? That was one of the many format twists in the only Texas gubernatorial debate in 2006. I believe each candidate asked a question of the candidate to their left or something like that, but I can't remember what questions they asked. The "lightning round" portion of that night actually ended up making more news, as Carole Keeton Strayhorn missed her question about who was the president of Mexico (Felipe Calderon).
Tonight will be the first time Obama, Edwards and Clinton will confront each other since the topic of race became a big part of the campaign. It will also be happening as the results from the Michigan primaries come in, and since there seems to be no consensus as to which event I should liveblog, I am going to try and liveblog both. This is one of the instances when ADD comes in handy.
