Thanks to the many viewers who have emailed and written to congratulate me and my husband on the birth of our son, Peter. Your kindness is very much appreciated.
Having a child has been such a fantastic gift that I really can't express in words.
As a reporter, words are usually my thing, but not this time -- this gift from God has left me speechless. Peter was born on December 9th, weighing 7 pounds 3 oz. Thanks to a lot of prayers and blessings he is happy and healthy and proves every day (usually around 1 a.m. & 3 a.m.) that he has a fantastic set of lungs!
I've learned that a person can do a lot on very little sleep. But, that's all part of the learning curve. Peter is just a little over 4 weeks now and for the first time today he cracked a smile at me. I just about flipped. I know, it could have been gas -- but as I told my husband -- this time was different. I think he really smiled! Wow, never before had I realized first hand that some of the smallest moments in life can deliver the greatest rewards. We are so blessed and I give thanks to God everyday for my son, Peter.
I hope to post again soon with some of the newest pictures and challenges. Until then, take care and thanks for watching KVUE.
It's so refreshing to hear people giving thanks for the "small" moments!!! Babies are certainly miracles, so you both will enjoy many of those special moments to come! Congratulations on your wonderful blessing!!!
P.S. We miss you on the air, but I know you're having lots more fun these day : )
The first smile is always the best, whether it's gas or not! Soon you'll come to know another joy....coming home from work after a long, hard, possibly horrible day and seeing his little face. Suddenly everything from your rough day has disappeared! That day just wasn't so bad afterall
Enjoy and congratulations!
Congratulations!
You have a beautiful baby. Enjoy every day of his young life. They grow up so fast. I have the honor of keeping my grandkids. Now I keep the three year old which I cant wait for her to walk through the front door each morning. God bless and take care. Thelma
Congratulations Christina to both of you on your new baby boy! Now you know the joy of living, and the true blessings in life. I have watched KVUE for many years since I am a native Austinite, and admire you as an anchorwoman. You are so pretty and manage always to look great. Motherhood is a challenge in life and yet the greatest blessing a woman can receive. Every new life is a miracle and makes you realize that yes there is a higher power of God to make it happen. Look forward to having you back soon so take care and do rest when baby Peter sleeps, if that is possible. Take care and God bless the three of you.
