I fly something you don't see in the air everyday

8:00 PM Mon, Jul 13, 2009 |

ANNISTON, Ala. (AP) -- Former Apache helicopter pilot Carl Harbuck is flying a lot slower these days.

He's gone from flying the helicopter gunship to piloting a blimp. He's known as Captain Carl and spends most of his work day about 1,000 feet off the ground as a senior pilot for The Lightship Group. The blimps carry ads on a 30-by-70 foot video screen. Harbuck tells an Alabama paper (The Anniston Star) flying over sporting events isn't as exciting as some people might think. He says from his height, people just look like ants.
