I was driving home the other night and heard an interesting discussion on ESPN radio. My first reaction was to laugh out loud. So I decided to look up his stats. It is not far fetched. Dunn doesn't turn 30 until November. So he's in his prime. Can you think of any other player who can match that 10 year stretch is not in the Hall Of Fame? Not Bonds. Not McGwire. Now of course we have to take into acount he is a hack as a fielder. And over that same stretch he has struck out 1059 times for an average of 177 per season. Also, he's only been an All-Star once. I'm not really saying Adam Dunn deserves to be in the Hall Of Fame. But if he keeps it up, his stats will give voters somthing to think about. And it's statistics like this, and the debate they evoke that help make baseball America's game. Brian Barthold |
