December 2007 ArchivesWe are down to just a few days until the biggest bowl games two schools have seen in a long time. Mizzou has the Cotton Bowl and Illinois has the Rose Bowl. KMOV will have complete coverage of both of these games over the upcoming days with a Bowl Special on Monday night at 7pm. Cotton and Roses: Seasons of Success will take a look back at both the Tigers and Illini's seasons and preview the matchups against Arkansas and USC. One ... Steven Jackson was way out of line criticizing Rams fans for not showing up to the game against the Packers and selling their unused tickets to the cheeseheads. The last time I checked the Rams were a 3-11 football team and had no chance of making the playoffs. If the Rams were 11-3 and the Dome was packed with Packers fans then he would have a valid argument but to criticize fans for not showing up for a bad product is just plain wrong. ... This evening a former NFL Superstar is sitting in a jail in Virginia awaiting transfer to a federal prison. Yesterday a NBA player was involved in an assault rifle shootout which wound up wounding the team's trainer. Most likely this week the Mitchell report will come out exposing multiple big name players in the largest steroid scandal in United States sports history. We cover these stories in the sports media with varying degrees of importan... Tonight on ESPN they held the awards ceremony for the College Football Awards and it occured to me that in my 10 years working at KMOV I have never recorded the show for use or for that matter even cared about the College Football Awards. Tonight though I did care because Chase Daniel was involved and had a chance to win the Davey O'Brien Award. I know things didn't work out the way everyone wanted it to in the Big XII Championshi... Missouri got the shaft. I think everyone outside of the BCS committee understands that at this point. So allow me to offer up what should have happened yesterday but didn't because the powers that be can't get their head out of the sand and set up a playoff. The playoff system I suggest would make the most sense and since it does it will never make sense to the NCAA bigwigs. Here is how my system works...... It would be a 16... |
