Going Down.....

11:35 PM Sun, Oct 28, 2007 |
Tim Klusarits

Where is the basement on the St. Louis Rams? Just when you think it won't get worse it does. 0-8 is where the Rams are and if you listen to the players in the locker room they say we're not this bad. The reality of the situation is they ARE this bad. Bill Parcells always said your record is who you are and I have always believed in that football truth. The Rams can make as many excuses as they want but the reality is they are as bad ...

Why I HATE Boston.....

Tim Klusarits

OK....maybe hate is too strong of a word but you have to be more than a little jealous of what is going on in Boston right now. Their baseball team has a stranglehold on the World Series right now being up two games to none. It looks like the Rockies don't even belong on the same field as the Sawx right now. Right now Colorado will be lucky to make it through the weekend.

Meanwhile where is the hottest team in all the NFL reside?...

La Russa to return for 13th season

Jeff Skversky

I believe Tony La Russa needed to rest and reflect after a draining season on and off the field. I also believe the fact that general manger and long time friend Walt Jocketty was let go, bothered La Russa and ultimatly delayed his decision to return to the St. Louis Cardinals for a 13th season.

Tigers in the National Championship.....

Tim Klusarits

I know that it seems very improbable that Missouri could play for a national championship in football. I know it sounds like I am drinking the kool-aid and maybe I am but here is how it could happen.

Right now the Tigers are 13th in the BCS. For the Tigers to have a chance they obviously have to win the rest of their games and win the Big XII Championship. That means they would have beaten current #9 BCS Kansas and most likely cur...

Exciting Sports Saturday....

Starting at 2:30pm on Saturday afternoon it should be an awesome sports viewing day in St. Louis. You start in Columbia with Missouri hosting Texas Tech. This game will make the scoreboard operator's thumb numb by the end of the day. The Tigers will once again be without running back Tony Temple but should still be able to put up tons of points against a not so good Texas Tech D. I think Missouri will win somewhat comfortably....Misso...

Disappointing Football Weekend....

8:32 PM Sun, Oct 14, 2007 |
Tim Klusarits

This weekend was the ultimate kick in the teeth for the local football fan. First Illinois couldn't figure out how to get their offense going against Iowa losing 10-6. I am admittedly not a huge Illinois fan but from the games I have watched this season I don't understand why Ron Zook doesn't start Eddie McGee over Juice Williams. McGee is only a freshman but it seems like the team has extra jump when he is in there.

The Illinois...

Thoughts on the weekend....

Tim Klusarits

A lot going on this weekend with the Blues, Rams, NFL and Baseball playoffs, but the event I am most looking forward to is on Saturday evening with Mizzou and Oklahoma. This should be a shootout even with Missouri being without running back Tony Temple in the lineup. I don't think Mizzou will win this one but it will be entertaining.....Oklahoma 41-31 winners.

The Blues will play in front of another near sellout tonight against th...

DeWitt can wait

2:53 PM Wed, Oct 10, 2007 |

So Tony La Russa needs some time to decide if he wants to come back.

Bill DeWitt wants an answer now.

I have to side with the skipper on this one.

Random Thoughts

Lots going on in Sports this week and weekend....

Just one week ago I thought it was 90% that Tony La Russa would be back with the Cardinals. Right now I think it is no better than a coin flip. Many people think Walt Jocketty may wind up in Cincinnati and I just can't believe that Tony would put Cincinnati high on his list of places he would like to finish his career. That being said clearly the Cardinals are going a new direction...
