It's not even winter yet and the Cardinals Hot Stove League is burning red hot with talk about Matt Holliday. He was an expensive mid-season rental. The Cards gave up top prospect Brett Wallace in order to get Holliday. Holliday gave the Red Birds some good Pujols protection during the regular season. He didn't give the team much in the playoffs, not to mention that missed fly ball. The Cards were 3 and done. Make no mistake. Sc... It is time for the NFL to fix its outdated overtime format. I'm not saying that because the Rams lost to the Jaguars on the first possession of overtime. The Rams were dominated in the second half. If not for two great plays, one by Leonard Little and another by Steven Jackson, the Rams would have lost in regulation. Picking the Rams to win on the road over a team with two wins might seem like a stretch. But it's not like the Jags are burning up... Well this past weekend was certainly one to forget. The Cards got swept, the Blues lost twice in their first two home games of the season, the Tigers lost at home to Nebraska, the Illini lost, and oh yeah, the Rams lost again. That is one one depressing 4 day span for St. Louis area sports fans. Where do I start? Let's go with the Red Birds. The playoff sweep leaves a bitter taste in all of our mouths. But the signs were there. A... Dough Vaughn Here is the list of the starting lineup: Cardinals Dodgers Cardinal fans: I've been to a lot of Cardinals post-season games in my career and I've never seen such a low turnout of Cardinal fans. Usually a group of Cardinal fans follow the team on the road, but there are hardly any Cards fans in LA. Yesterday's game was not sold out and today's isn't either, so it's not as if tickets aren't available. Overall, I'm disappointed at the Cardinal fan turnout. Star sightings:... |
