Tuesday's crash that killed two and injured seven other senior citizens is the biggest tragedy Pastor Miki Merritt says his New Cote Brilliante Church of God has ever been faced with. "We know God is in control. God works things out," Pastor Merritt told us in his church library Wednesday evening. Wednesday night is typically bible study night. But not tonight. Tonight was about prayer and the pastor trying to comfort a church congregation in shock. He says people here will heal by keeping trust in their faith and finding clarity in scripture. "It doesn't say all things feel good or that all things make sense. It says God can take even the worst things in our lives and work them out for our good for those of us that love him and called according to his purpose," Pastor Merritt said. |
