Some new numbers from the Centers for Disease Control are frightening. The CDC says 86 children have died from H1N1 in the United States. Half of those deaths came in September and early October alone. It would appear the H1N1 flu outbreak is only going to get worse.

The vaccines for H1N1 are on the way but they're slow in getting here. It was thought that more than 40 million doses would be available by the end of the month but because of manufacturer delays it looks like 28 to 30 million at most will be available. Five school districts in St. Charles county are deciding how they will vaccinate students who want the shot. There are about 80,000 students so there's a lot of planning that goes into something like this. But the school districts can't plan until they know when they'll get the doses and how many they'll receive.

We were at Blue Fish Pediatrics in Des Peres today talking with Dr. Gregory Finn. We were asking him what concerns he heard from the parents. He said some parents ask him how serious it really is. They look at him and say, "The media are blowing this out of proportion, right?" He says tells them, no, they are not.
