There is a very real fear tonight all across the NFL tonight that teams will be forced to blackout games due to declining sales. So far, at least 12 teams say games this season maybe blacked out; including the Rams. In 2008, the Rams blacked out two games. Late this evening I spoke with a sports economist, a Rams executive and fans to get their take on this news. Interestingly, all three groups came up with the same conclusion; the only way to ensure not a single game is blacked out is for the Rams to win. What's you're take on this? Does it upset you when the NFL blackouts game? The Rams first preseason game was blacked out. On Tuesday, the team announced the second home preseason game against the Chief will also be blacked out. The Rams take on the Chiefs on September 3rd at 7pm. 4 CommentsLeave a comment |

This must be the stupidest policy in pro sports.
Very stupid policy. The only thing that is worse, is the fact that they do it in preseason as well. If you want people to get excited for your product (the Rams, NFL, players, etc) then show preseason no matter what.
It doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to figure this one out. Yes, they have to win, but if they're not and you want to fill the dome lower the prices of the tickets. I'd rather have 40,000 people at half the price than 10,000 people at full price. Come on now, let's get real!! Once they're winning, prices can go up. Not that I'd be excited about higher prices, but it's supply and demand. Duh!!
LOCAL SPORTS BARS LOVE THIS RULE AND THEY WISH EVERY RAMS GAME IS BLACKED OUT.
