There is a good chance that the view from the riverfront could dramatically change. Today the owners of the Admiral and President Casino asked the Missouri Gaming Commission for permission to replace the landmark. Pinaacle Entertainment owns the Admiral and Lumiere Place Casino. The management group intiailiy expressed a desire to relocate the boat. The Admiral was built in 1907 and his been a fixture on the St. Louis riverfront for decades. What do you think? Should they move it, replace it or leave it where it is? 8 CommentsLeave a comment |

I think the Admiral should be placed on the register of historic landmarks & be left on the riverfront. It could probably be converted into an interesting museum.
Keep it! It's an historical St Louis landmark. I remember signing a petition in high school to save it the first time someone tried to get rid of it, that was over 20 years ago. It should stay as a part of the Landing's heritage.
It is not the boat I remember going on as a child, with the big bands, crusing up and down the Mississippi. It was gone once before and with all the problems they have when it floods, just let it fade into history.
Sink it. It is an eyesore...
Does it matter, they have been going to fix it and create something bigger and better for over 25 years...if they want to do something truly productive w/ it that would service the entire community, make it into a McDonald's boat like back in the day...it could be utilized by everybody, not just the gamblers...
I agree, looks terrible
BEEN GOING TO THE ADMIRAL SINCE I WAS IN GRADE SCHOOL, WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT SAVED. THE PROBLEM WITH PEOPLE TODAY IS THE ATTITUDE JUST TEAR IT DOWN. I AGREE IT SHOULD BE PLACED ON THE HISTORIC
LANDMARK LIST.
Getting rid of the Admiral from Laclede's Landing would be like getting rid of the Eads Bridge. It's been there forever and is a part of the St. Louis Riverfront much like the Arch. I would sign a petition to keep it here. I remember as a kid riding up and down the river listening to bands and watching all the dancing going on as a kid. It's part of my growing up. Keep it Here.
