What's Next in Illinois?

11:03 PM Tue, Jun 30, 2009 |

Now that the state legislature is allowing the budget deadline pass with just a temporary measur to keep government running, we all wonder what is next?
Not going away is the 9 billion dollar deficit and the tough choice of a higher income tax or deep cuts to state programs including vital services to many of the state's poor and disabled.
The view from Southern Illinois is one where many feel upstate politics pull the strings and nothing seems to surprise anyone. So, for now, the wheels of state government are grinding to a crawl if not a halt. But the tough choices must be made soon.

I don't get this why didn't illinios use the stimulus money from the federal goverment to pay down the deficit oh that's right Obama said they couldn't. So what are we going to get the people that make under 250,000 a year were going to get a tax raise. Even though Obama promised we wouldn't. Tax raise from the state or federal goverment it doesn't matter its still a tax raise.
