A 14 year old boy was skateboarding and got hit by a car. The driver couldn't stop. It is a sad event for both of them, but it is also a warning to all skateboarders. So we went to a skate park to talk to kids about the issue. A couple say they still skate in neighborhoods, but they keep an eye out for cars. But what about the car that's going too fast or the driver who's texting or even the skateboarder who loses control? Sure its fun to sail down the street, but just one accident can change lives forever. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |

I am a concerned parent. I live in Granite City where Austin was hit. We have a FREE Skate Park located inside Wilson Park. I would like to inform you that they DO NOT have any type of Helmet requirements.
