There was a vigil Monday night for Dr. Rob Hawkins. He's the Freeburg, IL school superintendent who committed suicide Sunday morning. The Illinois State Police have confirmed that he was under investigation but they are not giving details. The woman who organized the vigil says she expected perhaps a dozen people to show up. Maybe 15 to 20. More than 100 turned out. Well over 100. Hawkins was a popular superintendent. But now the town is grappling with his death. Now parents also have to decide how they will handle it when their children start asking questions. They must deal with young minds that are having to face serious issues. |
