It's been four years since Bianca Piper disappeared. She was last known to be walking down a rural road and was less than a mile from her home. Today is National Missing Children's Day. It's the time to look at cases like Bianca's and remember that although you don't see it on the nightly news or read about it in the newspapers the search goes on. We interviewed Bianca's mother, Shannon Tanner, today. She still holds out hope that her daughter is alive and will one day return home. During the interview I said that she must have played over thousands of events in her mind about what happened. If she had to narrow it down as to what happened, what would she say? She said she believes whoever left with Bianca was someone that was known to Bianca or a "local." She said the unpaved roadway that runs in front of her house is not really one that someone from outside the area would be traveling on. The "Miracle in Missouri", the Shawn Hornbeck story, has given her renewed hope. She still holds out hope that there will be a second miracle here. |
