A metro-East family is dealing with heartbreak. A 13-year-old out riding his bike with his friend thought he'd earn a few bucks. A guy was driving an older-model dump truck filled with gravel. but the load was uneven. The driver asked the boys to help him even it out. He would pay them for their help. The Sheriff's department says the driver "did something" to the hydraulics on the truck. As the 13-year-old stood next to the truck the bed on the drump truck collapsed, falling off the left side of the truck and onto the boy, killing him. The hydraulics that lifted the truck bed were mangled and bent by the force of the bed as it fell. The boy's name has not yet been released by the sheriff's department. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |
