Talk to a police officer and they'll tell you that more often than not the victims of violence lead what you would call a "high-risk" lifestyle. But Samir Ramlawi was NOT one of those people. He was killed by two robbers on Thursday afternoon. He was from St. Peters but owned property in north St. Louis. He was rehabbing a building that was going to be a "mom & pop" neighborhood convenience store. Two men tried to rob him. They shot and killed him. Friends tell me that Ramlawi was raised in Jordan but came to the U.S. as a teenager. He has five children and he and his wife are expecting another child in May. Friends have set up a trust fund for the children. You can make donations at any US Bank branch. Some witnesses tell police the men got into a green subcompact car after the shooting. While some witnesses have come forward they believe there are more who could help them. They've put the word out to please call Crimestoppers if you have any information. 5 CommentsLeave a comment |

Sammi was one of the "good" guys. Didn't have a hurtful bone in his body. I am a former co-worker of his and he was one of the sweetest, kindest, happiest men I knew. It's true he would help out anyone if they needed it. I remember him helping me a couple of times, something I will never forget. Sammi and I stayed in touch over the years, if only to say "Hello". God Bless you Sammi. you will be missed.
Samir Ramlawi was a very good man and husband. I am saddened that there are people in this world that can take a life like that. I do hope that those that do know more information about what happened do come forward so that the family may feel closure. The Ramlawi famiy is in our prayers in this very difficult time.
Samir was a hard working man who loved life & loved his family. I didnt know him well but had met several times. The Muslim community in Saint Louis is very sadened and troubled by this terrible loss! I just pray that Samir will have his place in heaven! God Willing

Truly tragic and completely uncalled for. Here a man was working to bring a business to the North part of the city and was rewarded in this manner. This part of the city (first) has got to be cleaned up and taken back by those who truly desire to live in a clean and safe area then we need to make sure the rest of the city is taken care of as well.
How many times do I have to tell you? CARPET BOMB NORTH ST. LOUIS.
