| St. Peters Businessman Killed in North St. Louis »
I was doing a story this afternoon about how well the used car business is doing during this down economy. I found a used car lot in the yellow pages, Kugman Motors on Kingshighway and the manager said we could come out and do the story on his lot. After interviewing the guy, we're shooting the breeze and he asks and obvious question. "Where are you from?" I told him I'm from Houston. He said, "Me, too." No big deal there. Houston's a huge city. A lot of people are from there. We keep talking and find out we went to the same high school (12 years apart but we had the same principal) and grew up a few miles from one another. It gets more weird... We share the same religion and we both married women outside of our faiths. What are the odds? We joked how if we keep talking we might find out we're cousins or something. I know these things happen to all of us from time to time. I love it when they happen to me. We did find one major difference between us. My fellow native Houstonian is not the die-hard Astros fan I am. He roots for some team with a bird mascot. |
