It's about 10:00 on Saturday night and the latest numbers from Mardi Gras show more than 60 arrests for underage drinking, using fake ID's and public urination. The police are still adding up the numbers for this year. Last year they made 98 arrests for the day. This year the numbers may be down a bit.

I was down at Soulard most of the day and ran across a lot of people having a good time. They were enjoying themselves. I also ran across a lot of people who don't know how to handle their booze. I hope they took a cab, had a designated driver or walked back to their hotel room downtown.

As I'm sitting here in the newsroom we're also gathering information on an accident in the metro-east that happened just a few hours ago. A Granite City couple were on their way to a Blues game at the Scottrade center. They were killed in an accident. The man who hit their car is suspected of drunk driving.

The couple were pregnant with their first child.
