St. Louis Police are out in full force on Fat Tuesday. After several high profile drunk driving related crashes across the metro, officers are looking for alcohol violations. Over the weekend officers focused on Soulard, on Tuesday night they are focused on downtown St. Louis. We saw lots of open containers along the parade route, one officer told me he would like to arrest everyone who's breaking the law. However, on this night they are really looking for underage drinker, we even saw one officer checking ids. Tonight they will be on the roads, the traffic unit will be pulling over anyone suspected of driving drunk. For the most part the crowd appeared to be energized, but well behaved. Lets just hope there aren't any major problems overnight.
