One of the Rams most popular players ever, is still popular around here even though he's starring in the Super Bowl for the team that left town a while back... Area charities he got involved in are rooting for him big-time Sunday. Angela Brunette who started Basket of Hope (www.basketofhope.org) in 1995 was keeping a little too busy and was considering giving up on creating gift baskets for kids in the hospital. She contacted Kurt Warner in 1998. He started delivering the baskets and next thing you know he contributed money and spread the word and now the charity has gone national. At Ranken Jordan Pediatric Hospital (rankenjordan.org), Warner and his wife created Warner's Corner... an indoor playground to help kids with their rehabilitation and also give their visiting siblings something fun to do while there. The list goes on and on and so does the admiration for Kurt Warner. |
