Will Smith, attended the St. Louis premiere of his new film, Seven Pounds, on Wednesday in Creve Coeur. I watched Smith as he tried to greet each one of his fans that waited for hours to catch a glimpse, shake his hand, or take a picture. I was moved how Mr. Smith, despite the numbers really took time to acknowledge those who waited in the cold to see him. We hear all the time how some movie stars are vain... and all about themselves. Mr. Smith gave me the impression that he is just an average guy with exceptional and unique talent. I was told by reps from the Urban League that Smith came to St. Louis to promote his movie, but he wanted to do something more important then that. He used his time to visit schools, talk with the needy..and give 300 turkey's to families in need. I think Mr. Smith's example is, that we all should look for ways to serve others. |
