10-year old Bradley Hyde has endured enough tragedy for a lifetime. Before his family could recover from severe flooding in June, he was in a car crash in July that killed his mother and younger sister and almost killed him. Tuesday, after four months in St. Louis Children's Hospital, Bradley went home with his father and step-mother. I met them all. What a wonderful moment for a family that has had few lately. Bradley was very soft-spoken and was clearly ready to go home. His dad couldn't stop smiling. He knows there's a long road ahead for his son but he's excited about moving toward some normalcy for the family. Bradley suffered head trauma and a right leg broken in three places. He's got a long way to go physically and psychologically and his family has financial challenges... Funeral expenses, hospital bills, future doctor bills. There's a benefit for the Hyde family Saturday, December 6th from 5pm to 11pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Old Highway C in Old Monroe, Missouri. It's a dinner, auction, raffle and dance. |
