LANDMARK CYBERBULLYING CASE GOES TO TRIAL

6:07 AM Tue, Nov 18, 2008 |

After making local and national headlines for more than two years, jury selection begins today in a Los Angeles courtroom in the case against a St. Charles County woman.
49 year old Lori Drew has pleaded not guilty to one count of conspiracy and three counts of accessing computers without authorization.
By now, I'm sure many of you have seen this case on t.v. Prosecutors are expected to argue that Drew harassed her daughter's former friend, Megan Meier, through a false-identity MySpace account.
Megan hanged herself after allegedly receiving messages from the account, messages saying quote: the world would be better off without her."
U.S. District Judge George Wu says he will remind jurors that his case is "about whether Lori Drew violated the terms of service of the MySpace site, not whether she caused the suicide of Megan Meier."

As always, I'd like to know your thoughts about this controversial, and highly-anticipated trial. By the way, Drew's standing trial in California because that's where
MySpace is based.
