In the Show Me State, like so many across the country, unemployment is on the rise. I checked today and as of June there was a little under 210 million dollars in Missouri's unemployment trust fund. So, what's problem? Well there is a really good chance that the state could run out of money to fund unemployment before the next round of tax payer money is added this coming spring. The big problem is that in recent months the state has had to pay some BIG bucks to thousands of people who've recently found themselves out of work. Take a look at the last two months, in August the state paid 38 million dollars in unemployment and in September tax payers shelled out 41 millions dollars. Right now there are 53,000 people collecting unemployment in the state and there is a very real possibility that 210 million will not last us another 6 months. Is any one you know collecting unemployment? 1 CommentsLeave a comment |
