"St. Charles. Thank you."

That may have been the only quote I heard from John McCain at his Monday morning rally I hadn't already heard him say dozens of times in the past few weeks. If you heard his acceptance speech at the GOP convention or his most recent debate, then you didn't miss a thing at this rally.

I'm not picking on Senator McCain. Barack Obama did pretty much the same thing Saturday at the Arch. ALL politicians do this.

As a local journalist who is supposed to report "news" and there isn't any, it makes my job extremely tough. I don't know how those journalists who follow the candidates each day do it. I feel like they must be waiting for the candidate to fall down some stairs or choke on some pie so they can report on that because the candidate sure isn't going to break new ground on a stump speech.
