Home foreclosures are a huge deal. Today I learned that more than 5 thousand people in St. Louis County are faced with the real possibility that they could loose their home any day now. With that being said, we found out today that help is on the way; the federal government recently allocated 17 million dollars for St. Louis City, St. Louis County and St. Clair County to deal with home foreclosures.

Here's the break down:

St. Louis City = 5.5 million
St. Louis County = 9.3 million
St. Clair County = 2.2 million

Missouri = 42.7 million
Illinois = 53.1 million

Nation = 3.92 billion

The only catch is that city's and counties across the country who get the money have to use it to buy or develop vacant properties.
