All night long, News 4's been keeping a close eye on the rising river levels in our area. Wow, have you seen the massive flooding down on the St. Louis Riverfront? This morning my photograper, live truck operator and I were in awe at just how "high" the water has gotten all along Leonor K. Sullivan Boulevard and the sidewalks down on the popular Riverfront attraction.
Plus, talk about business impact. For the third time this summer, the President Casino has temporarily closed because of the rising Mississippi River. They hope to reopen sometime in the next few days.
Interestingly, the water is much higher than when we were there a few months ago covering spring flooding on the Riverfront.
Of course, the highly-anticipated "crest" is expected to occur tomorrow. A lot of people will be waiting for that. If you have any cool pictures you'd like to show us, or any "must hear" comments, feel free to respond to my blog!
