Stunning and disturbing allegations are coming out of East St. Louis. An 11 year old girl tells her grandparents almost a month ago at least six teenaged boys sexually asaulted her. The girl says the attack happened inside a townhouse near 43rd and Forest Boulevard in East St. Louis. She says the boy's tricked her after pretending to be a friend of her older brother's.
The child's grandparents contacted News 4 after they say they became frustrated because they weren't satisfied with the police investigation.
While Troy and Deborah Buchanan feel like the police department is dragging its heels with the investigation, Mayor Alvin Parks defends the detectives.....saying "they are looking into it, and that this case is ongoing."
While we were at the East St. Louis Police Department this morning, it was clear after chattig with an officer in the parking lot that this shocking case has equally frustrated some officers.
What is clear is that investigators want anyone who may have any information to call East St. Louis Police at (618) 482-6900. As always, remember you DO NOT have to give your name. Most importantly, investigators just want solid information so they can make an arrest in this controversial case.
Feel free to express drop me a line, and let me know your thoughts.
