The weather was perfect, so it's hard to complain, but Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich did keep us waiting in Granite City on Tuesday for nearly two hours.
The event at the site of a new ethanol plant was supposed to start at 4 pm. By the time the governor arrived it was 5:50. He did apologize to the patient crowd, and made a joke about thinking he could travel from Chicago to the metro east in ten minutes and he did kiddingly blame his staff. And even though he was next heading to Busch Stadium to watch the Cards and Cubs, he did stay to talk everyone, even the reporters. It's a good bet he was late for the game.
